Artist Demonstration: David Kassan Portrait Drawing

Drawing New York invited artist David Kassan to create a charcoal portrait of one of our models during a five-hour drawing demonstration.

Watching his process develop over the course of the day was incredibly helpful to our members.

He began by using Pan Pastel on Strathmore Toned Paper. As the work developed to a more finished piece he used General Charcoal Pencils.

In the end, Drawing New York was thrilled to acquire the original drawing which will be on exhibit at The National Arts Club in 2018.
